Legionella Decision-Making For Safety Professionals

 

Session Overview:

After attending this session, attendees will be able to:

1. Review basics of Legionnaires’ disease and outbreak scenarios
2. Describe common scenarios faced by safety professionals during a Legionella investigations
3. Discuss possible actions which can be implemented to address safety concerns related to a Legionella contaminated water system

Presenter Background:

Robert Cole is the Environmental Health subject matter expert for the Southern Nevada Health District. As a Senior Environmental Health Specialist, Robert has coordinated over 250 Legionnaires’ disease investigations in both, hotel, hospital and residential settings.

Prior to moving to Las Vegas, Robert completed his bachelor’s degree in biology from San Diego State University. Robert also works in surgery as a certified anesthesia technician with a preference for trauma patient care. In his spare time, Robert volunteers in dog rescue, and has recently fostered his 112th pup.
