On Monday, June 9, our Vice President Reed Whipple passed away after a courageous battle with aggressive gastrointestinal cancer.
Our chapter mourns, his colleagues at NV SCATS mourn, and the hardest mourning is borne by Reed’s beautiful family.
It’s tough to know where to start to appropriately eulogize this giant of a man. What he brought in his professional discipline sent waves of influence through Nevada workplaces. What he brought in his friendship brightened the lives of innumerable colleagues.
To honor Reed’s insatiable curiosity and his steadfast commitment to growing our profession, we hereby announce the renaming of our Reed Whipple Professional Development Fund, which awarded its first grant just weeks ago to a chapter member pursuing BCSP certification.
