Upcoming SoNV June Chapter Meeting – NFPA 70E Updates

  • SoNV Chapter June Meeting - NFPA 70E & OSHA Updates
     June 17, 2025
     1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Topic Summary:

NFPA 70E addresses electrical tasks in multiple industries, an OSHA incorporates it by reference in 1910 and 1926. Do you know what changed in the 2023 standard revision and the 2024 OSHA guidance that might affect electrical safe work practices in your organization?

Make sure to attend our June technical meeting and learn from an expert!

Learning Objectives: After this session, attendees will be able to…

  • Identify changes in OSHA’s 2024 guidance on Electric-Arc Flash Hazards.
  • Explain why voltage is not the primary driver of potential severity in arc flash incidents, and which other factors play a larger role.
  • Ask the right questions to validate electrically safe work practices for components that have been deenergized but not isolated.
  • Inventory the key components of an effective Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) configuration necessary in arc flash environments.
  • Evaluate common PPE configurations that expose workers to greater harm, and recommend abatement corrections.
