Expired 2018 Pacific Coast Safety Fest

The 2018 Pacific Coast Safety Fest will be held in the Las Vegas area for the third year in a row! This event is sponsored by Region IX OSHA, Nevada S.C.A.T.S. and the OSHA Training Institute Education Center at Chabot-Las Positas Community College District, and hosted by the City of Henderson. Our purpose is to raise worker safety and health awareness and best work practices in our community. SPACE IS LIMITED.

Note: Attendees must register separately for each course. $20 fee per class must be paid at time of registration. Attendees receive credit for authorized OSHA Education Center classes and a certificate of attendance for all classes.

  • 1:00-4:00 p.m. Effective Leadership Skills and Traits for Safety & Health Professionals (0.3 CEUs) – This session will focus on professional development skills and leadership traits which can enhance abilities to effectively provide instruction. Through formal presentation and participative dialogue within this forum, Safety and Health professionals can learn how to apply these skills and traits to successfully convey best practices, policies and instructor methodologies to others.   • 1:00-5:00 p.m. Recordkeeping Rule Seminar – OSHA 7845 (0.4 CEUs) – This course is designed to assist employers in identifying and fulfilling their responsibilities under 29 CFR 1904 for posting, maintaining records of illnesses and injuries, and reporting specific cases to OSHA.   • 8:30-3:30 p.m. 10-Hour Outreach Training for the Construction Industry Day 1 of 2 (1.0 CEUs) This course covers specific OSHA requirements as they apply to the construction industry and teaches hazard identification, avoidance, control and prevention. Using OSHA’s Ergonomics Guidelines for Nursing Homes as a basis for any healthcare facility, this course focuses on analyzing and identifying ergonomic hazards and practical solutions to address these issues.
